Despite cobos that got burned, village life does seem blissful.

Love the Alicia Keys hair style by the way.

      thanks! it took hours.

i would not call it blissful, life in the village is quite hard most of the time, with 120 degree heat and no bathrooms or running water or enough food. but there is definitely joy to be found.

you can try shooting from the hip, if you ethically feel okay with that. otherwise, i often ask if i can shoot someone and then camp out for a bit to get a candid.

Love the hairdo! Was going to have mine braided with blond extensions but ran out of time… Will have it done when I come back instead! How long did yours last?

Wow, Kari, I’m sort of amazed if you got your hair looking like that without losing half of it. Impressive. Love your beautiful pics and poetry!
