    reminds me of the color white t-shirts get when you live near red dirt roads. ;-)

      just got back from a 13 hour drive on this road. i am now a redhead:) is mali the same color?

        Mali has more paved roads and the red seems less deep, but CAR is very red and has very few paved roads, at least when I lived there (-1996).

    yes, jutta – white was never truly white in africa – more an orangey-red. =)
